About Me

A librarian by trade, I put away the Dewey Decimal System and my storytime ukulele for the wonderful world of software. As a librarian, the end user informed everything I did, from organizing the resource database to the design of the physical space. I had to ask good questions and rely on my innate curiosity to find good information for the patron. I'm excited to continue utilizing my problem solving skills and user-focused design.

Now, I’m enthralled with the wizardry of coding and the prospect of a dynamic, ever-changing career. A lifelong learner with a passion for growth and change, my goals are to challenge myself, continuously learn new things, and have a lot of fun along the way.

I love to travel, read, play my ukulele, practice Spanish, run, bike, and garden. Anything outside. Give me a margarita, Tex-Mex, and good friends, and I will be in my happy place.

Bike Stash: an App for Bike Lovers

Riding my bike around Nashville is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted to make it easier on myself and fellow bike lovers to get around, so I created Bike Stash. Bike Stash is a single-page React application with CRUD functionality that shows users where all the bike racks are located in Nashville. Users can look on a map and see if where they're going 1. has a bike rack, and 2. the specific location of the rack.

A custom map shows city-provided bike racks, and users have the ability to add bike racks that they see around town with photos, address, details, bike capacity, etc.

Technologies used: Mapbox, Leaflet, City of Nashville external API, JSON server, Location IQ, Coudinary, Material UI.

PlantPal: an App for Thirsty Plants Everywhere

I can't tell you exactly how many houseplants I've killed, but it's a lot. Most. All? Basically, I've overwatered many a succulent and underwatered many a flower. That's also a story I've consistently heard from other people. I love having plants in the house and decided that our plants deserve better. That's when PlantPal was born.

PlantPal is an app that reminds users when to water their plants. Users can save their plant information and photos to the database (as well as edit and delete them), log how often their plants need to be watered, and be informed on the correct day when to water the correct plants. When users mark plants as watered, it effectively starts the countdown over.
